LOVE LOVE LOVE The Diamond Connection! My fiance and I (before we were engaged) looked at many places for rings, large and small. We are huge on customer service and quality. Many of the larger companies were helpful but their ring selections, prices and quality were lacking. I wanted a ring that was very sparkly and showcased the diamonds of the ring, not full of metal. I'm a nurse so I wanted something that was practical, yet beautiful. They took note on my likings and when my fiance went back to pick out the perfect ring for me, their ring selection and expertise was stellar! When Eric proposed to me, I couldn't have been happier! The ring was even better than I expected! I've have had SO many compliments on my ring, and people notice it from afar and have asked on many occasions who created such a beautiful ring! No joke, so many people have commented on my ring. We have purchased our wedding bands from the Diamond Connection as well and are more than happy with their services and quality of rings. I've always had my heart on having a Tacori Engagement Ring. There are only a few jewelers in San Diego who carry Tacori. I knew I did not want to go to a big, commercial Engagement Store. That's how my husband and I ended up at The Diamond Connection. Thank goodness we did! Ariel was so welcoming and helpful as we narrowed our search for the perfect Engagement Ring. He helped my husband select the final ring along with the diamond. I am so happy with my Engagement Ring!!! I look at it so many times throughout the day!

The months leading up to our wedding we visited The Diamond Connection on numerous occasions to select my husband's wedding band. My wedding band was easy to select, but my husband's tastes continuously changed at each visit. Ryan helped us with this process. He wrote down each design that my husband likes and we would compare them at the successive visits. Ryan was very attentive and patient. Surprisingly, my husband decided on a Tacori design!

Adam and the Diamond Connection staff are top notch. The service they provide is hands down, some of the best I've ever received. I'd been looking for very particular diamond for almost 18 months. On a recommendation, I was told to check out the Diamond Connection. Not only did they have the diamond I was looking for, they also gave me an AMAZING deal. Everything was custom made and they provided me with all the appraisal paperwork and GIA certification for my insurance company.

Now fellas, I know when you're about to drop a ton of money on an engagement ring, how stressful it feels. But trust me, Adam and his staff will quickly put all your worries and nerves to rest. They aren't pushy and will give you all the information in the world to make the best decision.

Oh and one last thing, the day before our wedding, my wife and I realized that my wedding ring was actually at her mother's house in Los Angeles. Fumi at Diamond Connection came through for us with a loaner that looked very similar to the one we had bought from them. They totally saved us on our big day.

Almost 18 years ago my first experience in a diamond store with my fiance did not go well. He wanted me to pick out a diamond wedding band to go with my 1 carat solitaire that seemed humongous to me. I felt that the engagement ring was plenty of ring for me so I opted for the $24 gold band. The manager tisked me and said that I was young and naive. I was just glad that he didn't make a sale as he insulted me. Well, nearly 18 years later and at my husband's prodding, I decided to upgrade and found the Diamond Connection as it is one of the only stores in San Diego that carries Tacori.

Not being a diamond efficianado and not wanting a repeat of my negative shopping experience almost 18 years ago, I set out shopping online. Unfortunately I am picky and found a company that seemed to have the exact ring I wanted, but it was expensive. A company named Tacori that is apparently the ferrari of diamond rings. Yikes! I checked the reviews on Yelp that said the Diamond Connection was a small store but carried a huge selection of rings. I was secretly hoping that I wouldn't like the Tacori ring when I saw it in person as it was so pricey.

What I learned...internet shopping first is a good idea. Turns out they had the exact ring I liked and when I saw it in person, it was still the ring for me. I looked at lots of other ones, hoping to like them better...to no avail.

The service here is exceptional. I actually walked away with more than I bargained for...much to my husband's satisfaction. Turns out the exact ring I liked wouldn't hold my not quite carat diamond. So after 18 years I am sporting a bit more bling and the Diamond Connection was able to make it happen in less than 3 weeks.

Now I will go back and have the original diamond made into a pendant as they do custom work as well. Don't be fooled by the size of the store - they have a fantastic selection of rings.

My fiance originally bought my engagement ring at Robbins Brothers and surprised me with the most WONDERFUL proposal! After a few months of being engaged, I wanted to reset my diamond or perhaps switch to a different cut...and I probably visited Ariel at The Diamond Connection 7 or 8 times in about 3 months. He was incredibly patient with me and I truly felt that he wanted me to be happy above all else.

Best things really do come in small packages or small buildings in The Diamond Connections case. It's a great store to look for your engagement ring. I have been to many jewelery stores including the stores at the mall (none to mention but they give you a bear with your purchase) and the Selection, Customer Service, Quality, and Price at The Diamond Connection is far superior to anything I have ever received. Me and my wife to be spent quite a bit of time shopping around... big corporate chains and little family owned shops as well. Finally we followed a friends recommendation to the Diamond Connection in Old Town. Everything was great. Their selection is tremendous - surprising because the shop looks so small. Their service is even better. I was shopping low end- both our rings were under a grand. The guy next to us was deciding between a $25,000 and $30,000 diamond. Their service was equally excellent for the both of us. They were also very helpful with sizing --- I loved the tungsten rings - which cant be sized. They let me trade it in twice because they re comfort fit and the sizing was tricky. Two Thumbs Up!

I had read reviews on Yelp and several other sites for the best place to go in SD for an engagement ring. My boyfriend (now fiance!) is the kind of guy who doesn't jump into any purchase over $500 (he has to have ALL the facts, make sure he's getting the best price, etc), PLUS he's very laid back, not thrilled about a lot of pressuring/attention.

We went to look together at Diamond Connection not only because they carried Tacori, but also because from the reviews I could tell this would be the kind of place that might help him feel more comfortable. The Diamond Connection actually EXCEEDED my expectations, and even my Fiance said later it was very "painless" and I catch him smiling to himself everytime people stop me to tell me how amazing it is. (He's not a smily kinda guy either!)

Stephanie was very patient and knowledgable. She taught us a lesson on diamonds, showing us perfect stones, or flawed ones that were cut so you could never tell. She spent at least an hour with the two of us, making sure we made the best decision for what I wanted, and what my fiance's budget was. She also gave us a real honest approach with respect to insurance as well. Multiple options, and the why's some where better than others!

Long story short...Turns out he went back the next day and bought the ring. (I must not have been the only one who made an impression!) Tacori rings are designer and take a month to make, and then he kept waiting for the right moment so it ended up being 3 months after he bought the ring! He told me Stephanie called and emailed to check up on him, make sure it fit me, and to make sure I came in so she could see my happy face, and teach me about the care! (TALK ABOUT SERVICE!!)

When I opened the box I was blown away. The stone is absolutely flawless. Because she was able to help him with such a great deal on a supposedly "imperfect" center stone he was able to get the designer Tacori ring I dreamed of.

People always ask me about this ring. Comment on how gorgeous the diamond is. "It's so sparkly, etc etc." I stare at it all the time, and even though I know where the "imperfections" might be, I couldn't see a flaw at all. Stephanie is an EXCELLENT gemologist and she knows her stuff!

Don't waste your money on sub-par, overpriced stones. Come to Diamond connection for the perfect diamond! There is really not a better place than getting your ring here!!! We will go here for everything for the rest of our lives, including our wedding bands!

They generally cared about our engagement ring, even while dealing with a sort of demanding bride-to-be. Unfortunately I didn't know about this place when I first started my ring search but lucky for me, I found it. Excellent rings, custom made, best prices (I shopped around) and did I mention excellent service? If you’re like me, an average person that's not spending millions on jewelry, you will still be treated as their top customer.

A friend recommended me to Ariel at the Diamond Connection a few years back and I've been a returning customer ever since. When I first met Ariel I was skeptical, not because I didn't like Ariel, conversely - I liked him a lot. But like a mechanic my question was, how much will the bill be? IS he going to take me for a ride? Rest assured Ariel put those questions to rest immediately. Our first session was about an hour and Ariel taught me all about Diamonds. I could see he took a lot of pride in being a jeweler and that he really understood what a diamond was all bout. At the end of our session Ariel challenged me, he said: "Peter, take this information (Diamond Specs) around and see if you can top the price. Do your homework, I bet you'll be back." I took Ariel up on his challenge and looked around no one came close to Ariel or his prices. I felt embarassed for doubting him but I was making an informed decision. He was right no one came close and I went to about six different places. That was two years ago and I still return to Ariel for my jewelry needs. I first went to The Diamond Connection 9 years ago to help my brother pick out an engagement ring for his wife. I knew then that this is where I wanted to get my ring. Diamond Connection was highly recommended to me by 2 good friends who purchased their engagement rings there a few years ago. They carry nice diamonds and the pricing is very good compared to some other stores. They also have a nice selection of settings. I looked ALL over San Diego before I finally decided to buy an engagement ring from The Diamond Connection. This place had -hands down- the best prices and even more amazing customer service than any of the other (10+) jewelry stores I went to. The first time I went in Adam and Ryan stayed with me an hour past their closing time while I was looking at their diamonds. They brought multiple diamonds out in my price range that were much nicer stones than I had seen at any of the other places and I was so amazed with the great service and prices that I bought the ring on the spot.

This place may be small but it is THE place to go for an engagement ring. Period. Go inside and look at the huge selection of different engagement rings (all custom made, probably 10-15 times as many as anywhere else). All of their diamonds are certified by the exact same certification agencies that Jared, Robbins Bros, David and Son's, John Franklin and all of the other overpriced jewelry stores get theirs from, only since these guys have a smaller store they have less overhead and don't have to charge you the 50%+ markups all of those other stores charge.

Don't take my word for it. If you do anything at least go check these guys out. You'd be making a mistake not doing so. If you have a bad experience there then come back and post a response.

A few previous reviewers commented on the size of the place. I love how small it is! DC is a boutique jewelry store with an intimate setting. If you're looking for crappy Kay Jewelers or overpriced Tiffany's, this is the wrong place for you. If you want excellent customer service, knowledgeble staff and high quality, then come to the Diamond Connection. Don't get me wrong, I love Tiffany's, but DC definitely has more unique jewelery with the same quality, if not better. Ariel and his staff are great, you don't get the feeling they are looking at you as a $$$ sign. They really want you to get the perfect engagement ring, earrings or whatever it may be.

I didn't get an engagement ring...yet! But my boyfriend bought me diamond earrings for Christmas. He shopped around a lot, his mom used to be a jeweler at a very high end jewelry store, so he knows the difference. Most diamond earrings are terrible quality and WAYYYY overpriced. My earrings are fairly large and engagement ring quality. The larger jewelers were charging almost double for smaller earrings with terrible quality.

You can bring your jewelry by anytime to be cleaned. You can also trade up!

Guys, a word of advice. Quality over size! Well I guess some girls might want a big, dirty diamond...But the smart ones want a perfect one! So if a humongous diamond isn't in your budget, go for a petite but flawless diamond. And if you're thinking about going to Kay Jewelers or Robbins Brothers, lose that thought or you will lose some major brownie points! That's just the same as buying a girl a fake Louis Vitton bag! No bueno!

Going to the Diamond Connection, was overall a Great experience for my fiance & I.... after going to a few jewelry stores in the mall, Jareds, Diamond Source, Robbins Bros, and even craigslist we found the perfect engagement ring. We were just there last weekend, and Ryan and Ariel were so helpful with their ideas, and they listened to what I wanted as well. I haven't received my ring yet, but I'm so excited to see what it looks like when its completed. The pricing is also very reasonable for what your getting,... I wouldn't go anywhere else for my diamond needs.

My fiance and I started here and ended here when engagement ring shopping. They import their own stones so they save their customers the middle man. Even though it's tiny they have anything you could ever want...and if they don't, they can make it for you. My fiance had my engagement ring custom made here. Then we went back for our wedding bands. Again, they custom made my band to match my ring. We just picked our bands up today and are very happy with them. Ariel and Adam are great to work with!

We waited to long to get our bands because we couldn't find "the ones"! We then decided to have a friend design us matching bands and have them made! The design was amazing- we were sold! Then the search began for someone to build our dream rings... some laughed in our faces when we told them our deadline, some told us the design was too intricate, some said they could do it- not in our time frame- and then gave us a quote and we laughed in their faces!

Then we went to the diamond connection- it's a tiny little place, but it has amazing jewels! They looked at our designs, told us our options, gave us a great quote, made it happen with time to spare! Working with them was just stress free & exciting!

Our rings turned out better than we could have imagined!

This is a tiny hidden gem of a boutique shop that specializes in engagement rings and wedding bands (greater selection with fine designer brands such as Tacori, Verragio to name a few). Therefore, if you're looking for other types of jewelry, you might be disappointed in that aspect.

Although the place is tiny in size, the quality of selection of rings makes you forget about it once you meet the sales people there who have been consistently friendly and helpful. My fiance bought his wedding band here. We had both our wedding bands engraved here (they didn't charge me for the engraving for my wedding band although I had purchased it somewhere else).  I was surprised when they even offered a fine polish on my engagement ring (that was not purchased here) for no charge since I had an accident that scratched up the metal of the ring. Then after the polish it looked almost like it was never in an accident.

The service went above and beyond what I expected, they weren't stuck up at all, non-pushy in sales, and courteous.

Will definitely recommend them to any friends or acquaintances for engagement rings or wedding bands in the San Diego county area.

ARIEL AND HIS TEAM ROCK! Now that I got that out lets give a review. Its a small shop that is huge in so many ways. My fiance and I went to other stores first so we could compare them all to one another. DC by far is the best of them all.

Robbins Brothers, Jareds,diamond gallery.........ALL " WACK!"

Its like going to a car dealership in there, a thousand of the same thing just in different cases or by a different designer. Plus there sales team acts like car salesman, havent had that much pressure since I bought my first car.

DC is no hassal,pressure free, knowledgable, customer savy salesman. They let the rings and there customer service do the sales. I recommend anyone who is looking for a "QUALITY" ring from a "QUALITY" shop to go here. Like all of us happy customers on here, dont let the small place fool you!

Ryan and Ariel simply excelled at providing sincere guidance and listen to my engagement ring needs; both went the extra mile in making sure I had the ring ready for Valentines Day despite my last minute request to surprise my now fiancée. Overall, I can't seem to relate to any online experience could be that personalized.

The very competitive pricing I believe is thanks to the vertical integration of their business as there is no middle man between Diamond Connection and its affiliate in Israel which cuts the diamonds.

Lastly, it is worth to mention that I'm the seventh person from a group of friends or people I know that purchase at Diamond Connection. Needless to say, I'm forever thankful

The Diamond Connection is just great - we were referred here by friends. My husband bought my engagement ring here and since then we bought both our bands and several other pieces of diamond jewelry here (earrings, necklace).

My husband surprised me with my ring, so I didn't do the shopping for my diamond, but I love my setting - it is modern and unique - I've never seen anything like it. My husband's ring is also killer - we got a special brushed rose gold torque band. They were truly able to design rings with us that made us feel individual and special. We get compliments all the time.

I also feel like the service is great - very fast and friendly. We just went in this week to get my ring cleaned and rhodium-plated for our 1-year anniversary and they recognized us instantly. Now that makes you feel good!

Ok, so you're in love and wanna get married, that's awesome! The next step (Traditionally) is to buy a ring. Whatever you do, SHOP around. Trust me.

I went to about 5 jewelry stores and their all different. Some make you feel like a used whore and others make you feel like a pampered pooch. You want the one in the middle.

My experience at the Diamond Connection was just that. I felt welcome, and at the same time learned a lot. I really didn't know Shit about diamonds. Ariel and Stephanie helped me through the whole experience and it was great. You're gonna be nervous and they know this. I went into see them 2 different times and after I finally decided on a diamond, I still went back in to make sure it was the perfect one. It was!

To the guys, if you're like me, you really have no idea what type of setting your lady wants (That's the metal part). That's fine. I took the route of picking and purchasing the stone and a temporary setting. No, it's not Ghetto, trust me. After she said yes (Yep she said yes!) we went back in, tighter, and selected a setting. And there isn't a chance in hell I would have picked the one she did. Is that a sign? I hope not.

Anyway, we're getting married early next year and will definitely go there to look at wedding rings. Oh and its in old town, go have a shot of tequila after you spend thousands of dollars on a small shinny thing, you'll feel much better.

It’s hard to even begin to express how the Diamond Connection made every dream about buying an engagement ring possible. First I had a very specific design in mind for the ring that my (now) fiancée had talked about. I looked all over San Diego to try and find anything similar, to no avail. Other stores (large dealers that I won't besmirch) told me that the designs they had in house were all that was available, you get what you get. Not to mention the diamonds I was being shown where extremely over priced for the quality I was getting. I left contact information with all these stores and asked them to look into finding the design I wanted and get back to me. NONE of these dealers got back to me. When I walked into the Diamond Connection I met Ryan who I explained my design too, within 5 minutes we were sitting down discussing them CUSTOM making the exact ring I was looking for. At first I assumed the word Custom would equal breaking my budget, to my surprise and happiness the custom ring that would be made for me would actually be the same price as a completely inferior ring that other dealers were trying to push on me. As for the diamond, the quality and price were amazing. As for the service, Ryan and I met and exchanged emails and phone calls every step of the way. He sent me drawings of the model of the ring and we went through every detail before it was custom made. When picking it up it had already been appraised by a wonderful appraiser and setting up insurance was so easy because of that. I loved every aspect of working with Ryan and the Diamond Connection, they are amazing, and their products and service are unmatched. My now husband was actually referred here by some friends of ours. Troy knew the style of ring I wanted and brand. I had no idea he was proposing , but when he did and I saw the ring I about died and almost went to heavan. The cut of the diamond, color, clarity was amazing...one of the most beautful rings I have ever laid eyes on and it was all mine. I couldn't leave this without thanking Stephanie. She helped push Troy along and gave him the best service EVER. I remember stopping by one night and we were browsing rings before he proposed and Stephanie was so professional, little did I know she was measuring my finger! After the proposal we went back to pick out my band. They actually let us custom make it and it turned out AMAZING. I cannot say enough great things about the Diamond Connection. Everyone including Ariel and Fumi who we have worked with has been so genuinely nice and amazing. From cleanings, to 6-month check ups they are with us the whole way! I still go in just to see them after our wedding although I do love the cleanings! We have definitely sent our friends there and have told them about it! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Ariel and the Diamond Connection were a breath of fresh air from all other jewelry stores. The way they treat their customers and the beauty of their diamonds is worth every dollar spent.

I had been searching for a couple of months for the "PERFECT" engagement ring, and could never commit to one at any of the other stores in San Diego. As soon as I walked into the Diamond Connection, it was different from the start and after looking a a few different rings, I was ready to place an order. Ryan and Stephanie were extremely helpful. My future mother-in-law gave my fiance a ring with 3 diamonds to use for my engagement and wedding band. Ryan was very attentive to me and my mother-in-law, helping me stay within budget and suggesting designs. The head and band had to be adjusted to fit the size and shape of the engagement diamond. It took about a month and turned out beautifully. At pick up they had the original appraisal and a copy ready for insurance. I had gone to all of the big retail chain jewelers and felt like I was never going to get someone that would listen to me, to work with what I had, and still have a great selection. This place has it all! It was the most intimate, down to earth, friendly, and knowledgeable place/people in San Diego.

We went back for the wedding bands and again the treatment we received was spectacular. It is a small space but it becomes very intimate due to the care and attention given. The selection of rings is absolutely wonderful and if you don’t see it they can help build your dream within your budget.

When we went in for the engagement ring we had talked about the wedding bands but nothing was ever decided on. When we went back they pulled out everything we had talked about so it took us no time at all to finalize the bands. My ladies band is so lovely and his tungsten band is perfect for him.

We are so sold on The Diamond Connection and I don’t ever see us going any where else. Thank you Ryan and Stephanie! We will send pictures when we get them!

Well I can't say enough good things about the diamond connection.... After having put a down payment on a ring at another jewelry store and having them go out of business I didn't think I was ever going to find the right place or ring.

We heard through a friend about Adam and the connection and had to check it out for ourselves.... We were amazed the entire experience was actually enjoyable. And I never thought I could say that about spending that much money or buying jewelery.

The quality of the ring and diamond surpassed any of my expectations. Adam was very understanding of our budget and did not pressure us to go beyond it. I never thought I would be able to afford the ring I purchased (1.6 carat solitaire and he made a custom design).The ring appraised for 5 thousand more than I paid! Adam was also very accommodating with allowing me to use layaway. He made sure everything was perfect well before I asked for the ring.

After proposing we both went back to the store to say hi and Ariel remembered our names and the ring even though he hadn't helped us prior. We always feel welcome whenever we go in whether its to just say hi or to have the ring evaluated.

I know I will buy all my jewelery from the diamond connection for the rest of my life.

The overall experience was painless, which was very surprising given I was purchasing diamond jewelry for my wife on her 47th birthday, when she wasn't expecting anything so therefore didn't provide any insights.

Being young and in love going on four years now... we started playing around with the idea of getting married... doing all this under the radar and on our own we rushed into one of those mall type stores to look at rings and after me finding something I thought she would like online we rushed in the store so I could get the ring...

After everyone telling me why did we go to a mall jewelry store... we decided to look around again. This time finding The Diamond Connection and Ariel we knew we found a way better place. His customer service has been amazing, and has everything that I wanted to build a long term relationship with.
